Types of Fees

Sellers on Etsy may be required to pay the following types of fees. All fees are exclusive of taxes, and they are non-refundable.

1. Set-Up Fee

To open your Etsy shop, a one-time set-up fee may apply. This fee is charged during the onboarding process when you confirm the charges. The fee is non-refundable once paid. The set-up fee may be waived during promotional periods or at Etsy's discretion. This fee is subject to local taxes and charges, depending on your location.

2. Listing Fees

You will be charged a listing fee of 0.20 USD for each item listed on Etsy. If you renew or create new listings, you will be charged again. The listing expires after four months, and the fee will be renewed automatically unless canceled. You will only be charged for private listings once they are sold.

3. Transaction Fees

Etsy charges a 6.5% transaction fee on the price you display for each item, including delivery and gift wrapping costs. This fee applies to the total amount, including applicable taxes if you sell outside the US. Transaction fees are deducted when a sale occurs.

4. Advertising and Promotional Fees

Etsy offers several advertising options to help promote your shop and listings, including Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads. Each comes with different costs and benefits:

• Etsy Ads: You can set a daily budget for ads within Etsy, and you'll only be charged up to your budget limit.
• Offsite Ads: Etsy purchases advertising from other platforms. You'll only be charged when a sale occurs from these ads, at a 15% fee if your shop has made less than 10,000 USD in the past year.
